- What: NCAA Men’s Sweet 16 Game
- When: March 27, 2025
- Who: Arizona Wildcats vs. Duke Blue Devils
- Time: 6:39 p.m. PST
- Where: Prudential Center (Newark, NJ)
On Friday, the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils will face the fourth-seeded Arizona Wildcats in the Sweet 16 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Duke comes into this game riding a 13-game winning streak that dates back to the regular season.
In their second-round matchup, the Blue Devils dominated Baylor with a score of 89-66, marking their second consecutive tournament victory by at least 23 points.
Meanwhile, Arizona narrowly defeated Oregon 87-83 on March 23 in the second round. The two teams previously met on November 22, with Duke emerging victorious at 69-55.
Additionally, forward Maliq Brown, who has been sidelined since March 13 due to an injury, is listed as day-to-day. Head coach Jon Scheyer mentioned that there is a possibility Brown could return against Arizona.
This matchup in the East Region on Thursday night will be exciting, but I’m not betting against the unstoppable Duke team right now.
The Blue Devils have been on fire this season, boasting a record of 33-3 with an incredible average margin of victory of +21.5, the best in the nation.
They’ve also shown impressive performance against the spread, going 24-12-0 ATS, which is notable given their status as a popular team often facing tough betting lines.
On the other hand, the inconsistency of Caleb Love and the Arizona squad is a concern.
Love tends to score big or fall short, and against a top-five Duke defense, I doubt Arizona will be able to keep up. I’m backing the on-fire Blue Devils to win by ten or more points.
