TMZ reports that former UFC champion Conor McGregor may pivot into politics.
After meeting with United States President Donald Trump last week at the White House, McGregor made an announcement via his social media that he is running for the Irish presidency.
His reasoning? McGregor said that he wants to give people of his home country a voice for the future.
The main issue for McGregor? The proposed EU Migration Pact.
This doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone, especially after meeting with President Trump where the two discussed immigration policy.
“The next presidential election must take place by 11 Nov 2025,” McGregor said.
“Who else will stand up to Government and oppose this bill? Any other Presidential candidate they attempt to put forward will be of no resistance to them. I will!” McGregor continued.
McGregor has made his position clear as to where he stands when it comes to the bill but he still it is the people’s choice, as the citizens are in charge, not the government.
“All citizens of Ireland to have a voice and a choice on their future!”, McGregor said.
