After a disappointing finish to their Mountain West Conference Tournament, the UNLV Lady Rebels are not done just yet.

The Lady Rebels punched their ticket to host the first round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament against Hawai’i on Thursday, March 20 at 6:30 pm at the Cox Pavillion and will be televised on ESPN+.

UNLV comes into the tournament as the No. 2 seed after winning the Mountain West Conference in the regular-season title for the fourth-straight year.

The Lady Rebels come into the tournament with an overall record of 25-7, which marked the fourth-straight season with 20+ win season.

Hawai’i is unseeded in the 32-team field and have an 22-9 overall record. The Rainbow Wahine just suffered a loss to UC San Diego on Friday, 51-49 in the Big West Championship Semifinals.

The Lady Rebels are no stranger to postseason play; this is the fourth consecutive season under coach La Rocque.

UNLV is 35-15 all-time against Hawai’i, which includes the last two meetings between the two squads, which occurred on December 11, 2022, in Hawai’I with the Lady Rebels being victorious, 76-66.

The winner of this game will move on to face No. 3 seed Florida and UNI in the second round, which will be held at a location to be determined following the game.
