Runnin’ Rebels advance to Mountain West Quarterfinals

On Wednesday night, the shorthanded UNLV Runnin’ Rebels picked up a win against Air Force to advance to the Mountain West Tournament Quarterfinals against a familiar opponent in Utah State.

Jalen Hill gave the team 40 minutes on the court, scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Jailen Bedford and Jeremiah Cherry each scored 13 points. Jaden Henley scored 12 points.

Bedford left the game for a large amount time with a hit above his eye. He returned sometime after the second half began.

Air Force was led by Ethan Taylor who scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Up Next: Utah State

The two teams will matchup on Thursday, March 13 at 8:30 PT at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.

In the last meeting between the Runnin’ Rebels and Utah State, UNLV came close but lost, 71-76.

Dedan Thomas, Jr. led the Runnin’ Rebels scoring a season-high tying 22 points and six assists. Jaden Henley and Jalen Hill scored 16 points. Henley grabbed a game-high six rebounds. Hill had three steals and five rebounds.

The Runnin’ Rebels have to watch out for the Utah State bench, in their last meeting, Utah State’s bench outscored the Runnin’ Rebels’ bench 37 to four.
