Runnin’ Rebels go for the regular season sweep of UNR

The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels are looking for sweep in-state rival, UNR on Friday night at the Thomas & Mack Center at 8 p.m. PT.

This game is presented by America First Credit Union as a part of the Silver State Series. The game will be nationally televised on FS1.

On Tuesday night, the Runnin’ Rebels defeated San Jose State 77-71 on the road.

The Runnin’ Rebels have held their previous opponents to 55.3 points per game and 36.8% shooting from the floor.

In their win against San Jose State, For the third time this season, the Runnin’ Rebels had five players scoring in double figures led by Jaden Henley, who scored a career-high 22 points.

Jalen Hill added 17 while Jeremiah Cherry scored 14, Jailen Bedford added 13, and Julian Rishwain finished with 11.

The Runnin’ Rebels had some trouble holding on to the ball within the first six minutes of the game. They made eight turnovers, but they were able to turn it around for the remainder of the game, only committing six.

UNR comes into this game having won five of its last seven games. They are coming off of an 84-61 win against Wyoming.

UNR is led in scoring and rebounding by Nick Davidson, scoring 16.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Kobe Sanders is second in scoring on the team with 15.2 points per game.
