Lady Rebels sweep UNR for the season

The UNLV Lady Rebels complete the sweep of in-state rival UNR with a 64-50 victory on Saturday.

This game was a part of the Silver State Series, presented by America First.

UNLV had four players that scored in the double-digits.

Aaliyah Alexander led the Lady Rebels with 18 points.

Alexander also went 7-for-12 from the floor, 2-for-4 from the 3-point line, and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.

Amarachi Kimpson and Kiara Jackson both scored 12 points. McKinna Brackens added 11.

Jackson led the Lady Rebels in assists with three, and Meadow Roland led the team in rebounds, grabbing seven.

Alyssa Brown had four of the 11 steals for the Lady Rebels.

UNR was led by Lexie Givens, who scored 12 points.

Dymonique Maxie scored 11 points and five rebounds.

The Lady Rebels started the game strong with a nine-point run until UNR returned with an 11-3 run of its own to close the lead to one, 12-11.

The Lady Rebels were up by three to close out the first quarter 16-13. Before halftime, the Lady Rebels would continue to build on the lead with a layup and a couple of free throws to bring the score to 32-19.

After halftime, the Lady Rebels came out to continue the takeover, going on a 13-4 run to bring the score to 45-23.

In the last 10 minutes of the game, the two teams continued to go back and forth until the Lady Rebels stopped it.  They never let up for the remainder of the game.

The Lady Rebels return to the court on Saturday at 1 p.m. PT against Colorado State on the road.
