The Oklahoma City Thunder (44-9) will play the Minnesota Timberwolves (30-25) in a Western Conference matchup on Thursday night.

The Thunder are in excellent form, currently riding a seven-game winning streak. In their most recent game, on Wednesday, they defeated the Miami Heat 115-101. In contrast, Minnesota is struggling, having lost its last two games.

Last night, the Milwaukee Bucks managed to squeeze by with a narrow 103-101 win against the Timberwolves. Earlier this season, the Thunder defeated Minnesota 113-105 in their only previous matchup after the teams split their four games last season.

OKC

Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the Thunder’s dynamic shot creator and ball handler. He shines in the mid-range game and possesses a soft touch around the basket.

Currently, he leads the NBA in scoring with an impressive average of 32.6 points per game and ranks second in steals at 1.9, while also contributing a team-high of 6.0 assists per game.

On February 5 against the Phoenix Suns, he delivered an outstanding performance, recording 50 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Forward Jalen Williams is a versatile scorer who can effectively attack all three levels of the defense. He averages 21.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, shooting at a 35% clip from beyond the arc.

In the victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on February 8, the 23-year-old showcased his skills with 25 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Minnesota

Guard Anthony Edwards remains an explosive playmaker and scorer for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He is currently fifth in the NBA with an average of 27.5 points per game, along with 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The 23-year-old has been on fire lately, notching at least 41 points in three of his last four games.

In a standout performance on February 5 against the Bulls, Edwards tallied 49 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Center Naz Reid provides valuable floor spacing as a shooter while also being a reliable rebounder. He averages 14.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, with an impressive 41% shooting from beyond the arc.

The former LSU star has surpassed 20 points in four of his last six matchups. In the game against the Trail Blazers on February 8, Reid put up 23 points and secured eight rebounds.

Thunder-T’Wolves Best Bet

The Timberwolves and Thunder rank in the top five in the league in defense and this is the final game before the All-Star break. This feels like there will be some tired legs involved in this one. Both teams are playing the second game of back-to-back as well.

I’ll take the Under in this one.

Best Bet: Under 225.5 Points at -115 odds.
