The Golden State Warriors will face the Los Angeles Lakers in an important Pacific Division clash on Thursday night. Newly acquired Luka Doncic, who is nearing his debut with the Lakers, is not anticipated to play in this game.

Currently 25-25, the Warriors have won three of their last five games but have a 10-12 road record.

In contrast, the Lakers are performing well. They have a 29-19 record and have won nine out of their last eleven games, including a streak of three consecutive victories.

They boast a strong 16-6 record at home. The Warriors will be missing a few key scorers, as they were traded for Jimmy Butler on Wednesday.

So far this season, the Lakers have prevailed in both matchups against the Warriors, including a 118-108 victory in San Francisco on January 25.

Golden State

With small forward Andrew Wiggins heading to Miami, Golden State will rely on veteran point guard Stephen Curry until Jimmy Butler joins the team.

Curry recently delivered a strong performance, scoring 32 points and adding seven assists in Wednesday’s narrow 131-128 defeat to the Utah Jazz. He has scored in double digits in each of his last 20 games and recorded six double-doubles this season.

For instance, he tallied 14 points and 12 assists during a 123-117 loss to Sacramento on January 22. Across 41 games, all of them as a starter, Curry is averaging 22.1 points, 6.2 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 31.8 minutes per game.

Shooting guard Buddy Hield will also help take on some of the scoring responsibilities. He is currently averaging 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 23 minutes of play.

In the game against Utah on Wednesday, he contributed 18 points and secured three rebounds in 31 minutes on the court. During a 130-105 defeat to Phoenix on January 31, he scored 13 points while also adding three rebounds and two assists.

Los Angeles

LeBron James has been a force against the Warriors this season. Through two matchups, he’s averaging 28 points, 11 assists, and 4.5 rebounds in 36 minutes of play.

Recently, he showcased his skills with a triple-double in a 128-112 victory over the New York Knicks, scoring 33 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and providing 12 assists.

In his 45 starts this season, he holds averages of 24.1 points, 9.1 assists, and 7.6 rebounds in 34.6 minutes per game.

As the team awaits Luka Doncic’s return, shooting guard Austin Reaves has stepped up impressively. He contributed 27 points along with six assists and five rebounds in the win over the Knicks.

Reaves narrowly missed a double-double in Tuesday’s 122-97 victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, finishing with 20 points, nine assists, and six rebounds.

Against Golden State this season, he has averaged 21 points, 8.5 assists, and 7.5 rebounds in 38 minutes on the floor.

Warriors-Lakers Best Bet

While the Lakers have been the better team this season, the amount of public money the Lakers are receiving in this one is stupendous.

The Warriors will be just are reinvigorated as the Lakers by adding All-Stars to their roster, neither of which will be available for this matchup.

I’m going to take the points and back the Warriors. The Warriors +6.5 points at -110 odds is the best bet in this one.
