The UNLV Lady Rebels (8-4) close out their non-conference play against the UCR Highlanders (6-6), 80-57.
Seeing Double
The Lady Rebels had three players to score in double figures in their win. The Lady Rebels were led by guard Amarachi Kimpson, who scored 13 points, shooting 4-for-6 from the floor, and going 2-for-3 behind the three-point line, and 3-for-4 at the free-throw line. Meadow Roland and Kenadee Winfrey also both added 12 points each, respectively. Roland also collected seven rebounds, while Alyssa Brown grabbed six rebounds and Kiara Jackson dished out five assists in the win.
The Highlanders were led by Makayla Rose, who scored 11 points. Shelley Duchemin added 10 points, while Esther Matarranz led the Highlanders in rebounds with 10.
Setting the Tone
The Lady Rebels controlled the tempo from the very start of the game. Alyssa Brown and Amarachi Kimpson started the game, putting up back-to-back buckets to take a 4-0 lead. The Highlanders would go on to score four straight points to tie the game. The Lady Rebels then answered with seven straight points to take the lead 11-4. The Lady Rebels then ended the first quarter with a six-point run to push the lead to 19-9. The Lady Rebels stayed hot and increased their lead to 32-13. With their foot on the pedal, the Lady Rebels continued to victory.

The Lady Rebels get to rest a little before gearing up to start Mountain West play against the Fresno State Bulldogs on Sunday, December 29th at 2 p.m.
