The Utah State Aggies host the UNLV Rebels in a Mountain West Conference Homecoming game tonight. Utah State and UNLV renew their rivalry. However, Utah State has won seven of the last ten meetings between the two.
UNLV
The UNLV Rebels are off to a 4-1 start, their best since 1984. If scoring points were the only requirement for success, the Rebels would be one of the top teams in the country.
In their recent game against Syracuse, the Rebels scored 41 points, marking the third time in five games that they scored at least 41. Their rushing attack averages 5.7 yards per attempt, and star wide receiver Ricky White III has achieved three 100+ yard receiving games.
The Rebels will face a struggling Utah State defense, which has been unable to stop opposing teams. The Aggies allow an average of 428 yards and 41 points per game, with the majority of yards conceded through the air (266.5) and an additional 216 rushing yards per game.

Transfer receiver Ricky White III has been instrumental in helping the Rebels convert on third downs this season.
Although quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams has shown moments of being a capable passer, he is most threatening when running the ball, leading the team in rushing with 260 yards.
The read-option should play a significant role in their game plan as they aim to exhaust Utah State’s interior defensive line.
Utah State
The Utah State Aggies are currently working to regain their momentum after losing four consecutive games following a victory over Robert Morris in their season opener.
In their most recent game, they faced off against the talented Ashton Jeanty, who scored 189 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in the first half alone.
Despite the challenge, the Aggies are determined to rebound from this defeat and aim to secure a victory at home in their upcoming game.

The Rebels can score the football, but so can Utah State. Iowa transfer QB Spencer Petras is beginning to get comfortable in the offense, and the Aggies scored 21 points or more in four of their five games this season.
The Aggies will rely on senior quarterback Spencer Petras. He has been effective in leading the team down the field, but he must avoid turnovers.
Running back Rasul Faison has also been a standout performer, accumulating 504 total yards so far. However, he will need strong support from his offensive line to excel in this matchup.
Rebels-Aggies Best Bet
UNLV lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Syracuse last week and needs a win to forget that one. Utah State has been getting ran over and overwhelmed by most of their opponents.
It doesn’t get any easier for Utah State as UNLV is looking to take out their revenge from that Syracuse loss. The Rebels bounce back in a big way tonight.
The spread is -19 and that seems like a large number, but I think UNLV covers this one easily. UNLV should win this one by more than three touchdowns.
The best bet in this one is UNLV -19.
