The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs host the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday Night Football. Kansas City is always a challenging place to play.
Still, when you add in the passionate fans at Arrowhead Stadium for a primetime game, it becomes evident that the Chiefs have a home-field advantage. In addition, this visit to Kansas City marks New Orleans’s first outdoor game of the season.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints made significant changes to their offense during the offseason, and the moves have proven successful. As of the fourth week of the 2024 NFL season, they have the highest-scoring offense in the league.
They rank ninth in total offense, averaging 349 total yards per game. Their running game has thrived under the guidance of offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, setting up Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams for success by taking advantage of their skill sets.

The other side of the ball has been much more inconsistent. The Saints defense ranks 17th in total defense, allowing an average of 330.3 total yards per game.
While they have performed well against the run, their pass defense has been a weak point. However, they have managed to limit opponents scoring, allowing an average of 17.5 points per game.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have a flawless 4-0 record this season, but their wins haven’t been as dominant as usual. They keep squeaking by teams finding a way to win.
Patrick Mahomes is on track for a career-low in passing yards, and losing Rashee Rice while not having Hollywood Brown at the start of the season, has limited their downfield options.
Sources: While #Chiefs star WR Rashee Rice’s season is expected to be over, he did receive positive news today from Dr. Dan Cooper.

Additionally, Travis Kelce has struggled, and rookie Xavier Worthy has yet to be a consistent option, averaging just 38.5 receiving yards per game.
The Chiefs defense has been instrumental in their success this season and will be crucial in facing the challenge of an improved Saints offense. This season, they have continued to impress, allowing only 326.8 total yards and 18 points per game.
Chris Jones has been dominating the front seven along with George Karlaftis delivering from the edge, their defense remains stout. In addition, Trent McDuffie has been a standout performer in the secondary, showcasing his skills as a shutdown cornerback.
Saints-Chiefs Best Bet
Picking against the Chiefs on the moneyline feels like a fool’s errand at this point. However, the spread is 5.5 points, and that intrigues me.
This Chiefs team has shown tremendous resiliency this season, consistently winning close games and figuring out ways to move the ball despite being ravaged by injuries.
Derek Carr has performed pretty well in primetime games and I expect him to play well tonight. While, I would be shocked if the Saints were able to pull off the upset, I believe the Saints do cover the spread.
The best bet in this one is going to be Saints +5.5 points at -110 odds.
