The Las Vegas Aces aim for their fourth consecutive victory as they visit the Washington Mystics on Saturday afternoon.
Since Chelsea Gray returned to the lineup, the Aces are 3-0, winning each game by double digits, and they’ve now moved into the No. 5 seed in the league, just 4.5 games back of the No. 1 spot.
Las Vegas Aces
The Aces, the two-time reigning champions, will face a Mystics team that has found its stride, winning four of their last six games after a rough 0-12 start to the season.
Currently sitting fifth in the WNBA standings, the Aces are on the verge of becoming the fifth team to reach double-digit wins this season.

Las Vegas has been powered by a relentless offense, averaging 87.7 points per game, second only to the New York Liberty.
They’ve been even more explosive recently, scoring 94 or more points in three of their last four victories, including a 95-83 win over the Chicago Sky in their previous outing.
However, this success has come with defensive challenges.
The Aces rank in the bottom five in scoring defense, allowing 84.5 points per game. They also struggle to defend the perimeter, giving up a league-worst 38.4% from beyond the arc.
Washington Mystics
The Washington Mystics might capitalize on the Aces’ defensive weaknesses, given their recent surge after a tough start to the season.
In their last six games, the Mystics have averaged 88.5 points per game, which would rank above the top-scoring Liberty.

This is a significant improvement from the 74.4 points per game they averaged during their winless start.
Washington’s shooting has also improved, hitting 47% from the field and 40.9% from beyond the arc, compared to previous splits of 40.8% and 32.9%.
Aces-Mystics Bet
If the Mystics can maintain their scoring, they should be able to compete with the Aces.
This game marks the first of three meetings this season, and Washington has been strong in this matchup.

While the Aces are favored to win, they have only achieved double-digit victories twice in their last eight games. The spread is at 13.5 points which feels a tad high. I’d bet on the Mystics to cover this one.
