The Chicago Sky host the Las Vegas Aces at Wintrust Arena on Thursday, and we’re here to provide our top Aces vs. Sky prediction.

The Las Vegas Aces (8-6) are bouncing back from one of their toughest stretches in years, with recent double-digit victories against two of the WNBA’s top teams.

The Chicago Sky (6-9) are on a two-game winning streak, which they hope to extend in Thursday’s home game at Wintrust Arena. This recent winning streak instills hope about their chances.

The Aces, who are considered the leading contenders for the WNBA championship, are favored by most sportsbooks by 10.5 points. This sets the stage for an exciting, high-stakes game.

They aim to extend their win streak to three games, contingent on their ability to contain Angel Reese, a rising star for the Sky.

Let’s dive into our Aces vs. Sky prediction.

Chicago Sky

It’s hard not to be optimistic about the Sky’s chances, especially after their back-to-back wins against the Dallas Wings and Indiana Fever. These victories have certainly bolstered their confidence.

This is largely due to Angel Reese’s impressive performance (13.2 points per game and 11.1 rebounds). Reese is making a strong case to overtake Fever star Caitlin Clark in the Rookie of the Year race.

However, Chicago’s physical style and reliance on their frontcourt play into the strengths of the Aces and their superstar, A’ja Wilson, who has been the league’s most dominant force on both ends of the court.

Wilson leads the league in points (27.8 per game) and rebounds (11.6), and she ranks second in blocks (2.4), which is a key reason she’s the frontrunner for her third MVP Award.

The Sky are around league average on both ends of the court and have been outscored by 1.2 points per 100 possessions, even after their recent wins. Therefore, another upset seems unlikely on Thursday despite Reese’s high-level play.

Now that Chelsea Gray has returned to the floor and is energizing their talented backcourt, the Aces are again looking like a championship-caliber team.

While Gray might not be at 100 percent yet, her presence in the lineup has reinvigorated the team.

With their experience and confidence from past championship runs, the Aces are no longer stumbling as they did in the season’s early weeks. They are decisively defeating quality opponents such as the Connecticut Sun and Seattle Storm.

We are accustomed to seeing this dominant Aces team, with Becky Hammon expertly putting the pieces together. No team wants to face the Aces right now.

With Chelsea Gray back, the Aces are a complete team once more. Her absence was clearly felt during the team’s sluggish start, but her return has made a noticeable difference, even if she’s not fully recovered.

The Aces have regained their competitive edge, easily outclassing strong teams like the Sun and Storm.

While these teams may not be on the same level as the New York Liberty or Minnesota Lynx, they are still formidable contenders for the league semifinals.

Although the Aces are currently in the middle of the standings, they look poised to climb back to the top of the WNBA. It’s difficult to see how the Sky will find answers against the reigning champions.

Aces-Sky Bet

The Aces will win, but 10.5 points feels too many against a rested Sky squad. The Sky cover, but the Aces win on the moneyline.

Will the Liberty or Lynx win the Commissioner’s Cup?
