The Vegas Golden Knights will take on the Colorado Avalanche for the first-ever MultiVersus NHL Face-Off on Sunday, April 14.

Imagine watching a hockey game, but all your favorite Vegas Golden Knights players have been replaced by your favorite Warner Bros. Discovery characters.

Sounds fun, right?

Well, that’s the idea behind the NHL’s first-ever MultiVersus NHL Face-Off.

“TNT Sports, Warner Bros. Games and the National Hockey League are joining forces to bring viewers a clash of excellence in hockey and real-time animation,” the NHL wrote in a statement.

The fully-animated broadcast will air exclusively on truTV and Max’s B/R Sports Add-on on April 14.

But don’t worry — the traditional broadcast will be available on TNT.

Bugs Bunny, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Velma, Shaggy, Steven Universe, and Finn the Human are just some of the characters taking center ice, while the Tasmanian Devil will act as lead official.

A special team selection draft will be held following the Buffalo Sabres at Detroit Red Wings game on Sunday.

Steve Mears will call the game, while Colby Armstrong will provide color commentary.

The broadcast will merge two different tracking technologies — NHL EDGE positional data (NHL Puck and Player tracking) and Hawk-Eye Innovations optical tracking.

It will also feature a dynamic rink with rotating elements based on environments from the MultiVersus game.

It’s similar to ESPN’s NHL Big City Greens Classic, which debuted in March 2023 and saw NHL players modeled after characters from Disney Channel’s hit animated series, Big City Greens.

The Tasmanian Devil will drop the puck at 12:30 p.m. — so don’t miss it!
