Lady Rebels Dominate Aztecs 100-41

The UNLV Rebels women’s basketball team (26-2, 16-1 Mountain West) dominated the San Diego Aztecs 100-41. The Lady Rebels were led by Desi-Rae Young, who scored 21 points.

 

The Lady Rebels led after the first quarter 28-7 and outscored Aztecs 23-10 in the second quarter to take a 51-17 lead into the half. After three quarters, the Lady Rebels led 78-33 before outscoring San Dego State 22-8 in the final quarter.

Young made 9 of 10 Rebels shots and grabbed seven rebounds. Ashley Scoggin was 5 of 7 from beyond the arc, scoring 17 points. Alyssa Durazo-Frescas made four three-pointers, and Amarachi Kimpson and Nneka Obiazor added 12 points each. Kiara Jackson had 11 points with nine rebounds.

UNLV shot 61.3% from the field and 48.5% from the three-point line. They made 16 three-pointers in the game. The Lady Rebels outrebounded the Aztecs 44-19, holding them to 28.3% shooting from the field.

On Tuesday, UNLV concludes its season with a road game against Utah State.
