Las Vegas Raiders’ defensive end Janarius Robinson was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor DUI in Las Vegas on Feb. 6.

Robinson was on his way to the Vdara when he accidentally hit a woman with his vehicle. The incident occurred at around 5:45 a.m. in the valet area of the Aria Resort & Casino, according to a police report.

The woman ‘became pinned between two cars,’ but was taken to a hospital before police officers could document her injuries. Video surveillance showed Robinson getting in and out of the vehicle moments after the incident.

While talking to police officers, Robinson’s ‘speech was mumbled,’ and he was ‘slightly swaying side to side.’ They also reported a ‘strong odor of alcohol’ and ‘bloodshot and watery’ eyes.

Robinson admitted to having two drinks between 10 and 11 p.m. the night before, but said he wasn’t under the influence of any other substances.

He failed a field sobriety test moments later and initially refused a blood test, but the police had a warrant.

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD) arrested Robinson on suspicion of DUI. He was booked and charged with a misdemeanor offense, but was released on his own recognizance later that day. He’ll be back in court on June 4, according to The Athletic.

If convicted, Robinson faces up to six months in jail or 48 hours of community work. The courts will also fine him between $200 and $1,000, and he’ll have to complete a substance abuse course.

Raiders Release Statement on Janarius Robinson

Robinson is entering his second season with the team after signing a two-year, $1.8 million contract in 2023. Both sides recently agreed to a 1-year, $985,000 contract for the 2024 season.

“The Raiders are aware of an incident involving Janarius Robinson last night. The club is in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this time,” the team said in a statement, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Robinson was a five-year player at Florida State before making his way into the NFL. The Minnesota Vikings drafted him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, but spent most of his rookie season injured.

He spent the 2022 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, but suffered a season-ending injury in Oct. 2022. They waived him the following summer, and the Raiders picked him up two days later.

Robinson spent most of the season on the practice squad, but saw playing time in each of the team’s final six games. He finished the season with eight tackles, 1.0 sack, and two QB hits in 78 defensive snaps.
