Raiders to Keep Adams, Look for Franchise Quarterback

Adams Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have no interest in trading wide receiver Davante Adams despite New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers recruiting him.

“The Las Vegas Raiders are in win-now mode, not really in the business of giving away really good players,” Rapoport said. “My understanding is Aaron Rodgers has been trying to recruit Davante Adams to the Jets — remember, the Jets kinda made a run at him this past year, there was nothing there, expected to try this offseason again. “From what I’m told, the Raiders want to win, believe they can and have zero plans to trade Davante Adams.”

Adams was a big-time supporter of the Raiders’ new coach, Antonio Pierce, and has a history with new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.

The NFL Network reported Sunday that Las Vegas would aggressively look for a franchise quarterback this season.

Las Vegas has rookie Aidan O’Connell and veteran Jimmy Garoppolo under contract, but the Raiders see neither of them as franchise quarterbacks.

The draft has quarterbacks that have the potential to be top-notch, like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels, with JJ McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr., and Bo Nix.

The Raiders are currently picking at No. 13 and will likely try to move up.
