According to a recent article, the Athletics’ financial outlook is strong. Among all the clubs in mlb, an estimated 92% of high-end seats have sold before the stadium’s completion. This is a testament to rising interest in the Las Vegas market. With individual tickets at $900 and season tickets at $72,900, the venture is already profitable.
Revenue Projections
The premium Athletic Club is projected as a significant revenue source. Within mlb, its 294 seats are expected to generate about $21.4 million annually in ticket sales. In addition, $100,000 personal seat licenses could add $29.4 million. For the franchise in Las Vegas, these combined earnings could exceed $50 million in the stadium’s first season.
The Athletic Club will feature a steakhouse, a premium lounge, and in-seat beverage service. Notably, mlb fans in Las Vegas will find this offering to be a primary revenue driver. Projected first-year revenue is $21,432,600.
Including the 694 Diamond Club seats, priced at $44,550 per season and totaling about $31 million annually, and roughly 32,000 general seats, the Athletics could generate about $124 million in ticket sales during their first season in the city of Las Vegas. This revenue projection sets a new bar for the mlb franchise.
Projected ticket sales for the first year in Las Vegas far exceed historical figures. Remarkably, as the A’s join the Las Vegas sports scene, mlb ticket revenue is expected to skyrocket compared to previous years in Sacramento and Oakland. The A’s are expected to earn $61 million in Sacramento in 2025, $28 million in 2024, and $30 million in 2022. Over the past three years, total ticket sales reached $119 million. This is much less than the anticipated revenue for Year 1 in Las Vegas.
