H20 Sylve Earned His Shot Now It’s Time for the Lucas Bahdi Rematch

Ashton “H20” Sylve did exactly what he needed to do Friday night in Long Beach. Standing across the ring was former world champion JoJo Diaz, a veteran with championship experience and a fighter Sylve knew well from years of sparring. Those types of fights are never easy. Familiarity can create hesitation, and former sparring partners often know each other’s strengths and weaknesses better than anyone else.

H20 Sylve stayed composed, executed the game plan, and walked away with one of the most important victories of his career. Now it’s time for the fight boxing fans have been waiting for. It’s time for the Lucas Bahdi rematch.

A Career Back on Track

The win over Diaz wasn’t just another victory on H20 Sylve’s record improving to (14-1, 10ko’s). It was another step in rebuilding momentum after one of the most shocking knockouts in recent boxing memory.

Back in July 2024, Sylve appeared to be cruising toward victory against the unbeaten Canadian puncher. He was winning every round and controlling the action before Bahdi landed a devastating combination that changed everything.

The knockout immediately became one of the biggest viral moments in boxing. For Sylve, however, it became a setback that forced him to rebuild from the ground up.

Since then, he’s responded exactly how fighters are supposed to respond. He went back to work, collected victories, and continued developing his craft. The win over Diaz was further proof that Sylve is once again moving in the right direction.

Unfinished Business

While there are plenty of options available for Sylve moving forward, one fight stands above the rest. Lucas Bahdi. The first fight ended with one of the most dramatic turnarounds in recent memory, but many forget what happened before the knockout.

H20 Sylve was outboxing Bahdi for the majority of the contest. He was winning on all three scorecards and appeared well on his way to a signature victory before one perfectly timed sequence changed the outcome.

That’s exactly what makes a rematch so intriguing. Neither fighter would enter the second meeting with unanswered questions about what happened the first time. Instead, both would enter with something to prove.

The Fight Fans Want

Boxing often struggles to make the fights fans actually want to see. In this case, the path is simple. H20 Sylve has rebuilt his confidence. Bahdi remains one of the most dangerous punchers in the lightweight divison.

The storyline is already written. One fighter owns the knockout victory. The other believes he was minutes away from winning before everything changed. Those ingredients create the type of rivalry boxing needs more of.
