On Saturday, social media reports surfaced regarding a disturbance at the NBHA Professional’s Choice Las Vegas Super Show. For those unfamiliar, NBHA stands for the National Barrel Horse Association.
Several horse owners said on social media that someone went into their stalls early in the morning and purposely stabbed their horses. Reports vary on how many horses were hurt. The National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) has confirmed the incident.
Hailey Krahenbuhl and her horse Saaul Good, known as Sully, won the Open 1D on Friday with a time of 14.418, earning $1,805. Krahenbuhl later confirmed on social media that Sully was among the affected horses at the NBHA event.
Krahenbuhl and Sully recently took part in The American Semi-finals in Arlington, Texas during Championship Weekend, qualifying through several runs. The suspect had actually talked to her that same night. Her story about the incident at the NBHA show is upsetting.
Keira Weisbart also said that her horse, Rocket, was hurt. The incident happened at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Equestrian Center, which has strong security. But these protections did not stop the NBHA-related crime.
