Combat sports legend Holly Holm will attempt to reclaim championship gold on Saturday night when she faces undefeated WBA lightweight champion Stephanie Han in a highly anticipated rematch at the El Paso County Coliseum.

The 10-round championship bout will headline ESPN’s televised boxing card beginning at 7 p.m. MT and marks Holm’s opportunity to avenge her January defeat to Han in Puerto Rico.

Han (12-0, 3 KOs) captured a technical unanimous decision victory over Holm on January 3, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since becoming champion, the El Paso native has successfully defended her WBA lightweight title twice and enters the rematch with confidence and momentum.

The undefeated champion’s speed proved to be a major factor in their first meeting, as she consistently beat Holm to the punch and controlled the pace of the fight.

For Holm (34-3-3, 9 KOs), one of the biggest keys to victory will be establishing herself early. In the first fight, Han dictated the action from the opening bell, preventing Holm from ever settling into a rhythm. The former three-division boxing world champion acknowledged afterward that she struggled to find her timing throughout the contest.

This time around, Holm will likely need to:

  • Increase her punch output early
  • Apply steady pressure
  • Force Han onto the defensive
  • Take more offensive risks than she did in the first bout

If Holm allows Han to establish control again, she could face another difficult night on the scorecards.

Experience Could Be Holm’s Biggest Weapon

Few fighters in combat sports history possess the experience of Holly Holm.

The Albuquerque native has:

  • Won world titles in three boxing divisions
  • Captured UFC championship gold
  • Headlined major pay-per-view and television events
  • Competed against elite opponents across multiple combat sports

That experience could prove invaluable in a high-pressure championship environment.

Holm has faced virtually every style imaginable during her storied career and may be able to make adjustments that weren’t available during their first encounter.

Han will have the advantage of fighting close to home in front of a supportive El Paso crowd. Expect the champion to come out aggressively and attempt to establish her speed and timing immediately. If Han can once again control the distance and dictate the pace, she will put herself in position for a successful third title defense.

Championship Stakes

Saturday’s rematch represents a pivotal moment for both fighters. For Han, it’s an opportunity to solidify her status as one of the top lightweights in women’s boxing.

For Holm, it could be one final chance to add another world title to an already legendary combat sports résumé and prove she still belongs among the sport’s elite champions.

When the bell rings in El Paso, both women will have plenty on the line, but Holm’s path to victory is clear: start fast, stay aggressive, and use the championship experience that has defined her remarkable career.
