Outfielder Henry Bolte, the A’s No. 5 prospect, has been promoted to the major leagues. This comes after an outstanding performance with the Las Vegas Aviators in May. Bolte’s journey is an exciting story in the world of baseball.

Sources confirmed Monday that the Athletics are calling up Bolte. He will join the team before their series against the St. Louis Cardinals in West Sacramento. This move marks another milestone in the sport of baseball.

Since the start of the month, he is batting .595 with five home runs and six stolen bases. He also earned Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors, demonstrating impressive stats in professional baseball.

Bolte’s Story

Bolte, the A’s second-round draft pick in 2022, now leads all minor and major league players in runs. He is tied with the Miami Marlins’ Otto Lopez for most hits (55). He is also tied with former A’s first baseman Matt Olson in total bases (104) across all levels. Such achievements are rarely seen outside of baseball’s highest ranks.

“He’s just a special talent, and he’s putting it all together,” Aviators manager Fran Riordan said. “At the dish, on the bases, he’s an absolute terror, and he’s getting more comfortable in center field.” Clearly, his skills have made an impact on baseball fans and management alike.

Although Las Vegas lost five of six games to the St. Paul Saints last week, Bolte delivered an exceptional individual performance. Fully recovered from last year’s wrist issues, he is demonstrating his power at the plate. In Wednesday’s 11-2 loss, he hit the longest home run by any Triple-A player this season. It was a 479-foot shot off Saints pitcher Mike Paredes, setting a new standard in baseball records.

For comparison, former Aviators catcher Shea Langeliers’ 467-foot home run last month is the longest in Major League Baseball this year. Bolte went 5-for-5 with two home runs on consecutive nights. He recorded 15 total bases on Friday and 13 on Saturday. In doing so, he broke the Aviators’ 32-year-old record for consecutive hits of 12, something remarkable even for baseball history.
