Luis Severino will set the tone Friday night in Toronto. The Athletics already named him their Opening Day starter, making him the first A’s pitcher to draw back-to-back Opening Day assignments since Kendall Graveman in 2017 and 2018. That part is simple. The harder question, and the more important one for this club, is whether the rest of the staff can turn depth into something sturdier than a nice spring talking point.
