Lights launch Winning Habit school rewards program with Habit Burger

Las Vegas Lights FC launched The Winning Habit, a school rewards program with Habit Burger that gives students a free match ticket and a free meal for hitting goals.

Las Vegas Lights FC is leaning into the community while it searches for points early in the 2026 season.

The club announced a new school rewards initiative, The Winning Habit, in partnership with Habit Burger. The program is built for school administrators and parents who want to incentivize specific goals, whether that is high grades, perfect attendance, outstanding character or another benchmark selected by the school. Students who hit the goal earn a free ticket to a Lights match plus a free Habit burger or kid’s meal, the club said.

One point, two road tests

On the field, the Lights have opened with a draw and a gut-punch loss, and both matches came away from home.

Las Vegas grabbed a 1-1 road tie at Orange County on March 7, conceding first before Nighte Pickering scored in the 84th minute to salvage a point. The Lights carried possession at 57.6% and finished with a 3-1 edge in shots on goal but needed late execution to make the night count.

The comeback that still cost three points

A week later, Las Vegas fell 3-2 at Colorado Springs on March 14 in a match that swung hard after the hour mark. The Switchbacks led 2-0 before Abraham Okyere ripped a quick brace in the 75th and 79th minutes to level it. However, an 85th-minute own goal credited to Benjamin Ofeimu decided it, a brutal ending after the Lights finally found rhythm in the final third.

Colorado Springs outshot Las Vegas 21-9 and put eight shots on target, forcing the Lights to defend deeper than they wanted for most of the day.

Last stop before the home lights come on

Up next, the Lights visit FC Tulsa at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21, before returning home to face Monterey Bay FC at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28.
