The Lady Rebels took down the No. 4 seed Colorado State on Jan. 31, riding two key contributors to a 64-51 home win.
Brown has been dominant this season, recording six double-doubles. She also has eight games with 10-plus rebounds. Her best rebounding performance came against Utah State on Jan. 7, when she grabbed 16 boards and added 16 points. She is currently averaging 10.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 52.2 percent from the field, just 0.4 rebounds shy of averaging a double-double.
Following Brown’s dominance, Roland has been nearly as productive, averaging 13.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 43.9 percent from the field. She has four double-doubles this season and five games with 10-plus rebounds. Her best performance also came against Utah State on Jan. 7, when she posted 18 points and 14 rebounds, plus three blocks.
These two are undoubtedly among the best in the conference, consistently showing up when UNLV needs them most. They will look to lead the Lady Rebels again Feb. 7 against Utah State, the same opponent Brown and Roland posted their best performances against this season. Fans can only imagine what they will have in store this time.
