Former UFC welterweight contender Darren Till delivered the most violent finish of his combat sports career on Saturday, brutally knocking out ex-UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the main event of Misfits Boxing 22 in Manchester, England.
The stoppage came at 1:08 of Round 3 in their six-round bout for the Misfits bridgerweight title. Till (32) repeatedly stunned Rockhold throughout the fight, including a late first-round knockdown that set the tone. Rockhold, 40, gamely fought on, but his defense crumbled as Till poured on a devastating combination that folded him backward and rendered him unconscious.
Till, now 4-0 in exhibition boxing, celebrated his biggest win since leaving the UFC. Rockhold, meanwhile, falls to 1-2 in combat sports competition post-UFC, having lost to Mike Perry in bareknuckle boxing but earning a knockout win over Joe Schilling in Karate Combat.
