Before the 53-man roster cutoff date, the Las Vegas Raiders have been hit by a shock.
According to Ian Rapoport, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has requested a trade, reportedly after negotiations regarding a contract extension fell through.

The Raiders currently do not intend to follow through with the request, as they deem Meyers to be too valuable to the offense.
Meyers is coming off a career year with the Raiders in 2024, putting up the first 1,000-yard season of his career. With that in mind, it makes sense that the 28-year-old would like to be rewarded for his efforts, especially with extensions handed out to Maxx Crosby and Kolton Miller earlier this offseason. However, it appears now as though Meyers will be playing out the final year of his current contract, unless a team is willing to pay a significant amount to bring him in.
With one of their top targets at risk of moving on at the end of this season, the Raiders are going to need to find a way to get out in front of this situation now.
