  • What: MLB Regular Season Game
  • When: June 29, 2025
  • Who:   Athletics vs. New York Yankees
  • Time:  10:35 a.m. PST
  • Where: Yankee Stadium (Bronx, NY)

The Yankees will host the Athletics for the final game of their series today. The Athletics will start Luis Severino, while the Yankees will pitch Marcus Stroman. The game is scheduled to begin at 10:35 p.m. PST.

The Athletics made a strong comeback on Saturday, leveling the series with an impressive performance from JP Sears, who shut out the Yankees.

The lineup thrived in the middle innings, chasing Clarke Schmidt from the game and adding runs against the bullpen.

Carrying momentum from yesterday, the A’s are ready to continue their success today, especially with Marcus Stroman returning to the mound.

Before his injury, Stroman struggled with an 11.57 ERA and a 2.04 WHIP in three starts, including a rough outing in Double-A, where he allowed five earned runs on ten hits.

Though the young A’s lineup ranks 11th in wRC+ and ISO against righties, Stroman’s issues could lead to quick runs today, especially with the wind blowing out at Yankee Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Yankees aim to bounce back after being shut out, facing a familiar opponent in Luis Severino. His 4.83 ERA doesn’t reflect how well he’s performed, particularly in managing home runs in a hitter-friendly park.

The Yankees are struggling, with a team wRC+ of only 87 in the last two weeks and an ISO 26% below their average. Severino should be able to contain their power, keeping the A’s competitive.

The A’s have a clear advantage in starting pitching and are poised to capitalize on a struggling Stroman. I expect a limited outing for him, so I’m targeting the total in this one.

10.5 runs is too high of a total for this matchup.

Best Bet: Under 10.5 Runs at -105 odds
