The Phoenix Mercury hit the road to take on the Las Vegas Aces in what should be an exciting matchup for the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The Mercury come into tonight’s game with a 7-4 record. They average 79.9 points per game, shooting 33.2% from three-point range while allowing just 78.3 points, the fifth-best defensive average.
Satou Sabally leads the team with 20.5 points per game, followed by Alyssa Thomas, who recently returned from injury, averaging 14.5 points. Kahleah Copper is also making her season debut, bringing additional scoring power.
The Las Vegas Aces, at 5-4, have a -1.9 net rating, ranking eighth in the league. They score 82.0 points per game and commit the fewest turnovers, but their defense allows 83.9 points, the fifth-highest in the league.
A’ja Wilson will miss another game due to concussion protocol, significantly impacting their lineup. Jackie Young is the next top scorer, with Chelsea Gray and Jewell Lloyd also contributing.
While the Aces managed to win against the Dallas Wings without Wilson, tonight’s matchup could yield different results.
With Copper back, the Mercury will be near full strength and are expected to control the game, especially on the boards, leading to a win while covering the spread.
Best Bet: Mercury -4.5 Points at -110 odds
Jewell Loyd comes up big in final seconds as Aces top Wings, 88-84
