According to MMAWeekly.com, Nate Diaz has broken his silence concerning an altercation that occurred on the set of his Russian TUF” reality show.
Diaz posted a video to his YouTube channel chronicling his travel to Thailand to coach opposite UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Diaz arrived, purchased marijuana and briefly settled into his accommodations. A few hours after arriving in Thailand, Diaz and crew made their way to the fighter house.
When Diaz and the crew entered the home, you could hear a loud commotion and see cameramen scrambling to make sure they captured it all on film.
The altercation began during introductions when a contestant got in Diaz’ face. The two exchanged words and the contestant appeared to attempt to put his hands on the Diaz.
Later, Diaz slapped him, escalating the situation. Punches were thrown and chaos ensued.
In the video posted to YouTube, Diaz included a clip of the incident and gave his initial reaction to the situation blaming the ‘Russians.’
“I’m out here in Phuket, Thailand. Came out here to do a little reality show with Jon Jones. I was looking forward to hanging out with Jones, the team and everybody,” Diaz said. “It didn’t work out because they the ops. We ain’t f*cking with any of them Russians. But anyways, they ain’t f*cking with me. So that’s what it is.”
Jones had a up close view of the situation and said the situation immediately became serious.
“Play fighting with Nate was not the best idea. It became serious right away and we had to replace Nate,” Jones said.
