The new-look bench for the Las Vegas Aces is already being tested before games have even been played.
On Thursday, the team announced that center Megan Gustafson has suffered a lower left leg injury and will be sidelined indefinitely.

The 28-year-old was projected to remain in her role as A’ja Wilson’s backup, coming off the bench when the superstar needed to take a break. In 10.7 minutes per game last year across 38 games, Gustafson averaged 3.7 points per game and 1.9 rebounds per game.
It is another blow to the Aces’ depth, which has taken quite a few hits in recent months. Last month, free agent signing Cheyenne Parker-Tyus announced that she would miss a significant part of the 2025 season due to her pregnancy. The Aces also lost key bench pieces in Tiffany Hayes, Alysha Clark and Kate Martin this offseason, forcing the team to shuffle the bench around.
Assuming Gustafson misses significant time, it likely means more minutes open up for Elizabeth Kitley, who is effectively in her rookie season after recovering from a torn ACL.
