- What: NBA Western Conference Playoffs First Round Game 2
- When: April 23, 2025
- Who: Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets
- Time: 6:30 p.m. PST
- Where: Toyota Center (Houston, TX)
The seventh-seeded Golden State Warriors will face the second-seeded Houston Rockets in Game 2 of their Western Conference first-round series on Wednesday at Toyota Center in Houston.
The Warriors lead the series 1-0, with tip-off set for 6:30 p.m. PST.
The Warriors edged out the Rockets 3-2 in the regular season. In Game 1, the Warriors scored a surprising 95-85 victory as 2-point road underdogs, with the Under (213) coming in. Stephen Curry starred with 31 points, shooting 12-for-19 overall and 5-for-9 from three.
Jimmy Butler also made a statement in his playoff debut for the Warriors, contributing 25 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals, helping the team lead by as much as 23 points.
Although the Rockets managed to cut the deficit to 4 points late in the game with a 3-pointer from Fred VanVleet (who finished with 10 points on 4-of-19 shooting), they could not hold on, allowing the Warriors to go on a 11-5 run to seal the game.
Houston, the top rebounding team this season, controlled the boards with 22 offensive rebounds compared to just 6 for Golden State.
During the regular season, the Warriors were 4-1 against the spread (ATS) against the Rockets, with the Under hitting in 4 of those 5 games. The Under has cashed in their last 5 encounters.
This matchup parallels the previous night’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers, which also ended with a low-scoring result, given their respective trends.
Given that, a similar outcome is anticipated for this game as well. These two teams understand exactly what the other team wants to do on the offensive end.
The Warriors and Rockets will be in store for another rock fight on Wednesday night. I’ll take the Under in the second game of the Warriors-Rockets series.
