The Golden Knights can clinch the Pacific Division title with a regulation victory over Nashville or if the Kings lose in regulation to Colorado on Saturday afternoon. Vegas currently leads in the tiebreaker with 44 regulation wins.
Additionally, the team boasts an impressive home record of 28-9-3 at T-Mobile Arena. They can tie the franchise record for home wins in a season (29), initially set during their inaugural season in 2017-18.
On the other hand, the Nashville Predators, currently positioned seventh in the Central Division, are looking ahead to next season. They are among the teams with the fewest points in the NHL.
In their last game, they earned a road victory in a shootout against the Utah, winning 4-3, highlighting their ability to perform under pressure.
Nashville has four players on the injury report, all listed as out for this game. Left winger Filip Forsberg, who has accumulated 73 points, leads their offense. The team will rely on goalie Justus Annunen to step up as the season concludes.
Offensively, Nashville struggles with an average of 2.54 goals per game, ranking the lowest in the league. Their special teams have been inconsistent, managing a 21.8 power play percentage and an 81.3 penalty kill percentage.
This matchup will serve as the deciding game of their three meetings this season, and it will be the first one held in Las Vegas.
Nashville won the first game 5-3 on January 14, bolstered by two goals and an assist from Steven Stamkos. Vegas secured a 3-1 victory on March 29, with Reilly Smith netting the game-winning goal midway through the third period.
Both of these teams are heading in different directions, take the Golden Knights to cover the spread in this one.
