It has been an exciting week for the draft prospects of the Las Vegas Raiders.

On Monday, it was made official that Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers were visiting the Raiders this week. The two have been linked to the Raiders for a while, and their arrivals in Las Vegas confirm the team’s interest. With some luck from the board, both could easily end up as a dynamic duo for the future.

As it turns out, however, those two are not the only noteworthy prospects taking their visit to the Raiders.

A projected first-round selection has confirmed his visit with the Raiders.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Michigan cornerback Will Johnson worked out for NFL teams on Monday at the university campus in Ann Arbor. In more exciting news for Raiders fans, Johnson held a meeting with the team on Tuesday.

It is an exciting development both for the Raiders and Johnson, whom labored through the 2024 season and missed the Combine and Michigan’s Pro Day due to a hamstring injury.

Prior to that, however, Johnson had a legitimate case for being the top pure cornerback in the class. In 2023, Johnson emerged as a leader of the Wolverines defense, helping them secure a national championship in then-head coach Jim Harbaugh’s final season with the team. Johnson was named defensive MVP in the national championship game against the Washington Huskies.

Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter is expected to be the first cornerback taken off the board, rumored as high as the second overall pick by the Cleveland Browns. After that, however, there is an easy path for the Raiders to secure Johnson and lock down their potential shutdown cornerback.

How the meeting goes between Johnson and the Raiders could go a long way towards closing the gap on Jeanty for the sixth overall pick.
