The casual fan would be forgiven for believing that the Las Vegas Raiders selecting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty feels inevitable.

The Raiders put together the worst rushing attack in the league last season, and now they have landed directly in the range for arguably the most talented running back prospect since Saquon Barkley. Boise State’s Pro Day on Wednesday only added fuel to the fire, with a heavy Raiders contingent being present throughout most of the event. General manager John Spytek and running backs coach Deland McCullough got the chance to see Jeanty in person, and their presence did not go unnoticed.

With the links between himself and the Raiders growing stronger by the day, Jeanty took some time to address the situation.

Jeanty described what it would mean to play for the Raiders during his media availability at his Pro Day.

According to Jay Tust of KTVB, Jeanty mentioned what he is looking for out of all of his potential landing spot in April’s draft.

“Most importantly, you want to go to the right fit, the right organization,” Jeanty told reporters.

When the obvious choice in the Raiders came up, it sounded as though Jeanty liked the idea of making the short journey to Las Vegas.

“Great organization,” the running back prospect continued. “They’ve got a few pieces and I know they could use a running back. They’ve got that nice pick, number six. So, we’ll see what happens but it’s been great meeting with them, meeting with their running backs coach. So, it’s cool that he came out all this way to meet with me.”

It was also reported by Boise sports radio host John Mallory that Jeanty and Spytek had lunch together that day, continuing to fuel the rumors.

If Jeanty to the Raiders was not a unanimous opinion before, it certainly feels like it is after his Pro Day events.
