On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the NBA betting scene features a limited slate of four games, highlighted by a cross-conference clash at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA. This sets the stage for our top prediction for the Cavaliers versus Clippers matchup.

This will be the first meeting of the season between the Cavaliers and the Clippers. Last season, they faced off twice, with each team claiming victory on their home court.

Cleveland

The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a 108-103 loss to the Orlando Magic on Sunday. They ended a 16-game winning streak after blowing a 13-point lead.

They shot 41.7% from the field, including 10 of 40 from beyond the arc, and missed seven free throws.

Evan Mobley missed the game due to a foot issue and is day-to-day. Donovan Mitchell led with 23 points, and Jarrett Allen added a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Currently, the Cavaliers top the Eastern Conference, 7.5 games ahead of the Boston Celtics, and own the best record in the NBA. They lead in scoring at 122.3 points per 100 possessions and in 3-point shooting at 38.8%.

Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Clippers have won six of their last seven games. After ending a three-game winning streak with a 127-120 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, they secured victories over the Miami Heat (119-104), Atlanta Hawks (121-98), and Charlotte Hornets (123-88).

Beginning a four-game homestand, the Clippers dominated the Hornets, who posted just 39.4% shooting from the field. The Clippers excelled with 13 three-pointers and 17 offensive rebounds, led by James Harden’s impressive 31 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Currently, LA ranks eighth in the Western Conference, a game and a half behind the sixth seed. They score 113.3 points per 100 possessions (18th in the NBA) and allow 110.3 points (4th), with a 3-point shooting percentage of 36.1% (14th in the league).

Cavaliers-Clippers Best Bet

The Clippers are 6-0 straight-up and 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, with wins over strong teams like the Grizzlies. However, defeating the Cavaliers could be difficult.

Cleveland has a low turnover rate of 11.6% and ranks high in both 3-point rate (fifth) and percentage (first). Jarrett Allen will challenge Ivica Zubac in the paint, so I’m favoring the Cavaliers, even without Evan Mobley.

The Cavs haven’t lost back-to-back games since January and are currently on an 11-game road winning streak. They are also 4-2 straight-up and 5-1 against the spread in their last six matchups against the Clippers.

Best Bet: Cavaliers -2.5 Points at -115 odds
