  • What: NHL Regular Season Game
  • When: March 11, 2025
  • Who:   Vegas Golden Knights vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
  • Time:  4:00 p.m. PST
  • Where: PPG Paints Arena (Pittsburgh, PA)

The Vegas Golden Knights and the Pittsburgh Penguins will play a non-conference matchup on Tuesday evening at the PPG Paints Arena.

The Golden Knights (38-19-6) sit at the top of the Pacific Division, although they are coming off a narrow 6-5 loss at home to the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.

On the other hand, the Penguins (25-31-10) are at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division, recently securing a 3-1 victory on the road against the Minnesota Wild.

This will be the second and final meeting between the two teams. The Golden Knights triumphed 4-0 at home on March 7.

Vegas

The Golden Knights are aiming to maintain their top division position with a 38-19-6 record, trying to distance themselves from the Edmonton Oilers.

Their offense is strong, averaging 3.37 goals per game and ranking fifth in the league. Jack Eichel leads with 77 points (20 goals, 57 assists) and needs to keep improving for the team’s success.

Defensively, Vegas ranks ninth with 2.73 goals allowed per game. Their penalty kill has struggled, successfully defending only 76.19% of penalties.

Adin Hill will be in goal, holding a record of 23-11-4 with a 2.60 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.

Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Penguins are struggling at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division with a 25-31-10 record, competing for a wild card spot.

Their offense averages 2.82 goals per game, ranking 21st overall, with Sidney Crosby leading the team with 68 points (21 goals, 47 assists) but needing more support from teammates. On the power play, they’ve converted 44 of 182 opportunities (9.8%).

Defensively, they rank 31st, allowing 3.59 goals per game. The penalty kill has been average, successfully defending 138 of 175 chances (78.86%).

Goaltender Tristan Jarry has a record of 9-8-4, a .890 save percentage, and allows 3.20 goals per game.

Golden Knights-Penguins Best Bet

Just last week, the Golden Knights secured a commanding 4-0 victory against these two teams. So, what will prevent them from repeating that performance?

The disparity in penalty minutes is quite significant, with Vegas accumulating 345 minutes in the penalty box while Pittsburgh has racked up 453.

I’m betting on the Vegas Golden Knights to win this one in regulation.
