The Minnesota Timberwolves (32-29) are set to go head-to-head with the Phoenix Suns (28-32) on Sunday night, and we’re here to provide the best bet for the Timberwolves vs. Suns game.
Minnesota is entering this game after losing to the Jazz, while the Suns won against the Pelicans. The Timberwolves currently lead the season series 2-0 against the Suns.
Minnesota
The Timberwolves suffered their second straight loss, falling 117-116 to the Jazz on the road without Anthony Edwards, who was suspended.
After trailing 114-109 with 2:47 left, Minnesota fought back to take a brief 116-115 lead thanks to Donte DiVincenzo, but the Jazz reclaimed the advantage with a dunk, and DiVincenzo missed a game-winning layup as time expired.

Minnesota shot 43.6% overall and 38.5% from three while allowing Utah to shoot 51.1% and 40%. They were out-rebounded by 20 and outscored by 20 points in the paint.
Naz Reid led with 27 points, Jaden McDaniels added 20, and Terrence Shannon Jr. scored 17.
This season, Minnesota averages 112 PPG points on 45.8% shooting and has held opponents to 109.2 points per game. They currently rank 11th in offensive rating and 5th in defensive rating.
Phoenix
After losing to the Pelicans on Thursday, the Suns rebounded with a 125-108 win on Friday. Bol Bol led the team with 25 points on 9-13 shooting, while Nick Richards added 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Royce O’Neale contributed 18 points, and both Kevin Durant and Devin Booker scored 17, with Booker also recording nine assists.

The Suns shot 59.5% from the field and 52.5% from three, compared to the Pelicans’ 50.6% and 39.3%. Despite the victory, Phoenix was outscored in fast breaks and in the paint.
This season, the Suns are averaging 114 PPG points on 47.7% shooting, while allowing 115.9 PPG on 46.4%. They rank 10th in offensive rating and 27th in defensive rating.
Timberwolves-Suns Best Bet
In their last 15 games, Phoenix finds itself at the bottom of the NBA in defensive rating and ranked 24th in net rating, presenting a stark contrast to a playoff-caliber team.
On the other end, the Wolves have performed exceptionally well, landing in the top 10 for both offensive and net rating during the same period, largely without Donte DiVincenzo and Randle.
With both players likely returning on Sunday, the Timberwolves offensive potential against the Suns is set to increase significantly.
Given Phoenix’s struggles on defense, I find it hard to place my trust in them as a favorite. Additionally, the Suns are struggling against the spread this season, holding a league-worst record of 21-38-1.
Take the Timberwolves to beat the Suns and move the season series to 3-0.
Best Bet: Timberwolves money line at +100 odds.
