While the NFL gears up for the Draft Combine starting on Thursday, the NFL Players Association did its own work with its annual report cards.
Since 2023, the NFLPA gave players the freedom to anonymously grade how their teams are doing from the perspective of team facilities and overall organizational structure. 1,695 players across all 32 teams voiced their opinions in this matter, telling team ownership what is good about their facilities and what needs fixing. These report cards carry serious merit across the league, indirectly informing players about where they should go if they value a quality day-by-day experience, as well as encourage teams ranking poorly to elevate their standards by bringing up issues.
The Las Vegas Raiders have consistently ranked highly on these report cards, and this year’s rendition proved no different.
The Raiders ranked fourth out of 32 teams across all categories on their NFLPA Report Card.
The Raiders are one of the top five teams for the second time, with the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers rounding out this year’s top five.
The ranking is a jump from last year, when the Raiders fell to ninth after finishing third in 2023. A large part of that had to do with former head coach Josh McDaniels, who ranked last out of all 32 head coaches that year with a D grade. With Antonio Pierce finishing in the top half of the league at 16th, the Raiders find their way back into the top five this year.
Pierce’s ranking was still the lowest out of all major categories, but the addition of Pete Carroll should assist in that regard.
Among the highlights for the Raiders was ranking first in the nutritionist/dietician category, with players praising how they receive personalized nutrition plans. They also finished second for both the team’s training room and team travel accommodations. Outside of the aforementioned head coach ranking, the Raiders finished in the top 25 percent of all teams in every category.
With the Raiders ranking so highly, they have more ammunition to convince quality players to join them in 2025.
