UFC CEO Dana White downplayed the rumor over Jon Jones’ fight requests against Tom Aspinall, BoxingNews.com reported,

Most UFC fans are clamoring for a Jones fight since they did not witness Jones versus Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou stepped away from the UFC and signed with PFL, dousing any chances of fighting Jones.

Jones is the current UFC heavyweight champion after obtaining the title against Ciryl Gane. Jones returned after a three-year hiatus to stun Gane in the first round to become the heavyweight champion. He then defended his title against Stipe Miocic in UFC 309.

UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall also won his last fight against Curtis Blaydes in the first round in UFC 304.

True enough, Aspinall is in line to face off against Jones.

Jones expressed that he is interested in fighting Aspinall if appropriately compensated. Some reports have said that he wants $30 million.

On “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Joe Rogan said the UFC should put up or shut up when it came to paying Jones, but after speaking with White, Rogan confirmed that the rumor was not true.

“I think it’s going to be [Tom] Aspinall [next]. I think they’re trying to come to some sort of an agreement. The rumor is that [Jon Jones] wants $30 million, and the UFC is going to pay him, hopefully,” Rogan said. “I had heard a rumor that Jon Jones wanted $30 million to fight Tom Aspinall. I heard that rumor, and I heard that the UFC said yes, but it is not true. So, Dana contacted me and said that the rumor is [not true]. So, I felt obligated to tell everybody. That was a fake rumor.”

Apparently, it’s all on Jones.

Jones stated that he could see a future in acting if he decided to retire. He is hoping to sneak in just one last fight before he rides off into the sunset.
