Mark Stone scored and had an assist in the Vegas Golden Knights‘ 5-2 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday.
Nicolas Hague, Pavel Dorofeyev, Alexander Holtz, and Tanner Pearson also scored. Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin had two assist a piece, while Ilya Samsonov made 23 saves for Vegas (26-9-3).

Golden Knights crash the net
Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy was less than thrilled with how his team played against the Canadiens, especially when getting to the net front.
The Golden Knights didn’t start the first period well, resulting in a 1-0 deficit. Then Vegas began to attack the net.
Stone tied the game by crashing the net front and tapping in a Jack Eichel pass. The second Golden Knights goal came from Hague scoring on a wraparound.
“You gotta use the perimeter and work towards to get inside,” Stone said. “I thought that’s how we got most of our action going forward.”
Second-period push
Being behind is nothing to the Golden Knights. Vegas entered the second period trailing for the 13th time this season.
Then 51 seconds into the second period, Stone broke through and gave the Golden Knights their first goal. It snowballed from there, as Vegas scored three goals in the period to take a 3-1 lead entering the third period.
“I thought we decided to kind of take initiative and get some pucks to the net and force their goalie to make saves,” Stone said. “We had a couple good plays in the second period to take the lead.”
Finish strong
Unlike the game against the Canadiens, the Golden Knights continued to push the action, extending the lead to 4-1 after Holtz’ goal.
The goal gave Vegas a three-goal cushion that allowed the team to breathe a little bit.
“We don’t want to sit back. I thought we did a good job.,” Hague said. “We were able to get the next one and then one more after that. We were just good. I liked the way we finished the game.”
