According to YardBarker and A to Z Sports, one part of the Las Vegas Raider’s nightmare could be over soon.
The Raiders have been in a tough spot these last few seasons since their last appearance in playoff play. In that appearance, they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, 26-19.
Since then, they’ve had two head coaching changes and no playoff appearances in three seasons.
To add insult to injury, the Raiders are by far the worst team in the NFL this season. They couldn’t even lose the right way to take advantage of next year’s draft.
In a perfect draft scenario, the Raiders should have beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars to secure a chance at the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. The Raiders are now 3-6 with the No. 6 pick in the draft.
On the flip side, some Raiders fans may be happy to hear some good news.
According to SportsKeeda and reporter Dianna Russi of The Athletic, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce’s tenure as the Raiders coach could be coming to an end soon.
Pierce’s overall record as the Raiders coach is 8-16 after ending the 2023 season 5-4.
If you ask some Raiders fans, they are split on if Pierce could continue to lead the team. Some fans would say that he wasn’t given a fair chance to succeed because he didn’t have enough talent to work with. Others would say that he’s just not head coach material.
The truth remains, the Raiders have been in a coaching hell for what feels like 20 years. Their last playoff win was 20 years ago. To succeed, the Raiders must get a franchise quarterback and a new head coach to build around. It seems as if the choice has been made to move on from Pierce soon.
Who knows how the rest of the Raider’s season will unfold?
If the Raiders close out the season with losses against the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Chargers, it will all but guarantee to bring a change to the organization.
