Raiders QB situation up in the air for Monday Night

According to Yardbarker.com and Atozsports.com, the Las Vegas Raiders quarterback situation may still be up in the air as they go into their Monday Night game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Against Tampa Bay, quarterback Aidan O’Connell suffered a knee injury, thankfully it appears only to be a knee bruise and nothing more serious than that.

Desmond Ridder is supposed to start Monday night. Ridder, who used to start for the Falcons, was also excited to get a chance to start against his old team, but that may have changed on Friday.

Raider head coach Antonio Pierce gave the media an update on O’Connell’s injury, and it seems as if who may be starting Monday night is now up in the air. Pierce said, “He’s (O’Connell} fighting his tail off” to play on Monday after confirming that O’Connell didn’t practice.

Pierce continued, “Well with Desmond [Ridder], here’s the crazy part. Last week, Thursday, because Aidan [O’Connell] didn’t practice cause of sickness, he got all those reps, and then look what happened in the game, right? So yesterday, he got a lot of reps. He’ll get the majority of the reps today, and we’ll just take it day by day. But the way our season’s gone, all of our quarterbacks are ready to go, so we’ve got to get them ready to go.”

Desmond Ridder has played sparingly this season and from the looks of it, it seems as if his chance to start Monday night may not happen if O’Connell has anything to say about it.
