The Las Vegas Raiders know what to expect with Maxx Crosby.
On Saturday, the Raiders officially ruled Crosby out for their Week 15 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Crosby missed all three practices this week headed into the game, so the designation is not surprising. As a result, Crosby will miss the second game of both this season and his career.
Crosby’s absence means that expanded roles should be expected for defensive ends K’Lavon Chaisson and Tyree Wilson.
Cornerback Sam Webb has been ruled as doubtful with a back injury, and quarterback Aidan O’Connell (knee) and defensive tackle Adam Butler (concussion) are considered questionable.
The Falcons already posed a challenge with their star-studded offense, and the difficulty has only increased with Crosby now out.
UPDATE: According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Crosby is now expected to undergo arthroscopic ankle surgery, ending his 2024 season. Crosby will meet with doctors on Monday for the procedure and see the severity of Crosby’s injury to decide if further surgery is needed.
