As the Los Angeles Rams (7-6) gear up to face the San Francisco 49ers (6-7) on Thursday Night Football, the stage is set for an electrifying NFC West showdown.

With kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium, the Rams are looking to extend their winning streak to three games, and I’m all in on them pulling off the upset at +125 odds.

Los Angeles Rams

Let’s break down why the Rams are the team to back in this matchup. First off, momentum is a powerful thing in the NFL, and the Rams are riding high after a thrilling 44-42 victory over the Buffalo Bills last week.

Matthew Stafford threw for 320 yards, showcasing his elite passing ability, and the dynamic duo of Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams each scored two touchdowns.

With both Kupp and Nacua healthy, the Rams’ offense is firing on all cylinders, and they’ve averaged a staggering 57 points per game since Week 10.

On the flip side, the 49ers are dealing with a laundry list of injuries that could significantly impact their performance.

While they managed to snap a three-game losing streak with a 38-13 win over the Bears, they are still without key players like left tackle Trent Williams and potentially running back Isaac Guerendo, who is questionable with a foot injury.

The absence of Williams, in particular, is a massive blow to their offensive line, which has struggled without him.

The Rams’ defensive line, although ranked 22nd in DVOA, has been improving and could exploit this weakness.

Defensively, the Rams have shown signs of life, especially with their young and ascending defensive line. Leonard Floyd has stepped up in recent weeks, and while they allowed 42 points to the Bills, they’ve been more consistent overall.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers’ offense, while potent, has faced challenges against top defenses, and without Bosa, their pass rush will be less effective, giving Stafford more time to operate.

Historically, Stafford has had his struggles against the 49ers, but this is a different Rams team. With both Kupp and Nacua on the field, Stafford has the weapons he needs to exploit a 49ers secondary that has been vulnerable at times.

The Rams have also been able to score against tough defenses, and with the 49ers’ injury woes, they could find themselves in a shootout.

Moreover, the betting trends are leaning towards the Rams. The 49ers are favored by 2.5 points, but with the potential for the line to shift if key players are ruled out, now is the time to grab the Rams at +125.

If the line moves to 3.5, it could be a prime opportunity to back the Rams even more.

In terms of player props, keep an eye on George Kittle. With McCaffrey out, Kittle’s target share has increased, and he’s been a focal point in the passing game.

However, the Rams’ defense has been decent against tight ends, so it will be interesting to see how that matchup plays out.

The Rams are not just a team that’s getting hot at the right time; they are a team that has the potential to capitalize on the 49ers’ injuries and inconsistencies.

With Stafford at the helm and a revitalized offense, I’m confident that the Rams will not only cover the spread but also emerge victorious in this crucial NFC West clash.

So, let’s ride with the Rams and see if they can pull off the upset!
