The UNLV Rebels had a chance to make history tonight. A victory in the Mountain West Conference Championship game meant a chance for the Rebels to play in their first College Football Playoff. Despite a valiant effort by the team in the second half, they would fall to the Boise State Broncos and Heisman Trophy candidate Ashton Jeanty, 21-7.
Jeanty ran for over 200 yards against the Rebels including a 75-yard touchdown in the first half. Fans from across the country reacted to Friday night’s game.
Rebel fans… no matter the outcome of this one, please be mindful that this team has been a pleasure to watch all season and has taken UNLV to new heights.

Hat tip to UNLV football. That program jumped from longtime consistent failure to a legitimate Top 25 team in just two years. Respect.

Not a lot of teams go through 3 QBs in two years and go to back to back conference championship games.

Great great team. Competed every play.

Despite the loss, the Rebels garnered a lot of respect from across the country for their play all season long, and hopefully for the sake of their fans, it will carry into next year as well.
One thing is certain, this won’t be the last time you hear from this team. Next, the Rebels will hear where they will be bowling.
