WATCH: Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev on win vs. Jets

Vegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev has been a vital part of the team’s recent five-game point streak (4-0-1).  He scored twice against the Winnipeg Jets as part of the Golden Knights 4-3 victory on Friday.

Barbashev has 10 points total (four goals and six assists) during the last five games.

What impressed him, however, about the team’s victory was how the Golden Knights could continue their strong run of play with a great start against the Jets, owners of the NHL’s best record.

“I think we were just ready from the puck drop,” Barbashev said. “We just started putting the puck deep, and we just went to work. And I think that’s what we did for the most part. There’s been some tough shifts, but, you know, it happens every single game against any other team. But, you know, we’re just ready to play.”

Barbashev is having a career start to the season. He has 12 goals on the year, which is second on the team and has 15 assists to go with it. It has been one of the question marks of the young season regarding who will step up their projection to replace some of the goals that left the Golden Knights during free agency.

As it stands right now, Barbashev is one of those who are raising the occasion for the Golden Knights.
