The Oklahoma Sooners (5-0) handed the Lady Rebels (4-2) its second loss of the season 88-58. With Oklahoma’s win against the Lady Rebels, this ties the series between the two teams 2-2.
It Just Wasn’t Enough
Although the Lady Rebels shot 41.2% from the floor, it was not enough to top the Sooners. In comparison, the Sooners shot 39.5% from the field. In this game, the Lady Rebels were out-rebounded by the Sooners. The Sooners snatched down 51 rebounds to the Lady Rebels 37 rebounds.
Scoring Spree
Junior guard Kiara Jackson led the Lady Rebels in scoring with 20 points and 10 rebounds, it was her second career double double. All 10 rebounds were on the defensive side. Forward McKinna Brackens added 12 points and had 7 rebounds. The Sooners were led by Zya Vann who scored 14 points and Skylar Vann added 15 points.
What’s Next for the Lady Rebels
Coach Lindy La Rocque said after the game via post-game press conference, “Our schedule doesn’t get any easier, so we have to learn and respond and get back out there and move forward.”
The Lady Rebels will be hosting a Thanksgiving Classic at the Thomas & Mack Center starting Wednesday, November 27th. The Lady Rebels will be facing UCF on the opening day of the tournament at noon. This tournament will close out the team’s stretch at home.
