The Las Vegas Raiders will travel to South Beach for a Week 11 showdown with the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are coming off an impressive upset victory against the Los Angeles Rams, winning 23-15 on Monday Night Football.

The Dolphins secured a 20-13 victory over the Raiders last season in Miami. This season hasn’t seen either team shine, with the Dolphins currently in 10th place in the AFC and the Raiders sitting 15th.

Las Vegas Raiders

The defense has been struggling significantly this season. The Raiders find themselves ranked 30th in points allowed per game and 15th in yards allowed per game.

Defensive end Maxx Crosby and Robert Spillane stand out as the most effective players. Crosby has recorded 17 solo tackles and 6.5 sacks, whereas Spillane has tallied 52 solo tackles, one sack, and one interception.

Unfortunately, their efforts have not improved the Raiders’ turnover margin, which Is at the bottom of the league. The Raiders have also struggled on the offensive side of the ball.

The quarterback situation remains uncertain.

Gardner Minshew II has faced difficulties, throwing for 1,510 yards, with six touchdowns and eight interceptions. In the most recent game, Desmond Ridder took the field and completed 11 of 16 passes for 74 yards and one touchdown. However, neither quarterback seems to be a viable long-term solution.

Running back Alexander Mattison is also struggling, having carried the ball 92 times for 301 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Meanwhile, tight end Brock Bowers stands out in this offense, leading with 57 receptions and 580 receiving yards.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins rank 30th in points per game and 20th in total yards per game, indicating a struggling offense. The Dolphins could not win a game without Tua Tagovailoa playing quarterback.

To date, he has thrown for 1,155 yards, achieved six touchdowns, and committed four interceptions. Running back De’Von Achane has carried the ball 105 times for a total of 457 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to catching 42 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver Tyreek Hill has made 37 receptions for 462 yards and scored two touchdowns. Meanwhile, wideout Jaylen Waddle has recorded 31 catches for 367 yards, but he has only found the end zone once.

Miami has been a better defensive team than an offensive one this season. The defense has played a crucial role in keeping this team competitive. Currently, they sit at 17th for points allowed per game and 10th for yards allowed per game.

Defensive tackle Calais Campbell continues to be a standout player, racking up 25 solo tackles and three sacks. Defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah has also contributed, totaling 16 solo tackles and two sacks.

Although cornerback Jalen Ramsey may not be the dominant force he once was, he has still performed reliably in the secondary, with 21 solo tackles and one interception to his name so far.

Raiders-Dolphins Best Bet

This seems like a get-right game for the Dolphins, considering their struggles. However, the Raiders are continuing to shake up their coaching staff and will be trying new strategies.

The spread is what is confusing me, as oddsmakers have favored the Dolphins to the tune of 7.5 points. Seven is a key number in football, and anytime oddsmakers are willing to offer more than seven points, you should typically stay away.

As well as the defenses for both teams have played at times, the total might be the angle to target in this matchup. BetMGM has it at 43.5 points.

That total doesn’t seem high, but weather will start coming into play and the forecast is calling for a windy game in Miami, which would disrupt the passing game for both teams.

Under 43.5 points is the best bet in this one at -110 odds at BetMGM.

Raiders focus on fundamentals on defense ahead of Dolphins game
