The Carolina Hurricanes will face off against the Las Vegas Golden Knights in Sin City for an exciting matchup at T-Mobile Arena. Last season, the Canes managed to sweep the Knights.

In their last 10 encounters, Carolina has a 6-4 advantage over Vegas. Furthermore, they have won three of their last five games played in Vegas.

Carolina Hurricanes

At the start of the season, goal scoring was seen as a potential weakness for the Hurricanes, who are currently sixth in goals scored. However, this has significantly improved.

Their passing has also been effective, with Carolina ranking eighth in assists.

Additionally, they are performing well in shooting, sitting ninth in shooting percentage, and excelling on the power play, where they are eighth in the league with the extra-man advantage.

Center Martin Necas is one of the standout players in the league right now. He is enjoying an impressive nine-game point streak and has recorded seven multi-point games during this stretch.

Currently, Necas ranks fourth in the league for points, tied with Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Nikita Kucherov and Florida Panthers center Sam Reinhart. With this momentum, he aims to keep his success going as he faces off against the Golden Knights.

Right-wing Andrei Svechnikov is in top form, currently on an eight-game point streak. He has developed excellent chemistry with Necas, racking up five goals and nine assists.

Center Sebastian Aho has also made his mark this season, contributing three goals and 10 assists, plus he added another assist on Saturday. Center Jack Roslovic has been impressive as well, with a total of nine goals and one assist to his name.

With Frederik Andersen out of the lineup, Pyotr Kochetkov has stepped up as the starting goaltender.

He boasts a record of 7-1, along with a 2.51 goals-against average and an .896 save percentage. While his save percentage could improve, he has still managed to lead his team to victories.

The Hurricanes’ defense has been stellar; they currently rank fourth in goals against. Additionally, the team excels in penalty killing, sitting seventh in the league in that category.

Vegas Golden Knights

Right-wing Mark Stone’s injury could impact the Golden Knights long-term if he doesn’t recover quickly. However, the team still boasts several skilled scorers.

Currently, the Golden Knights are ranked third in goals scored. Their passing has been impressive as well, placing them second overall in assists in the NHL. They have excelled in shooting, holding the top spot in shooting percentage.

Furthermore, Vegas remains strong on the power play, sitting in third place in that category.

Center Jack Eichel remains a key player, contributing three assists on Friday. He has tallied four goals and 18 assists in 14 games this season, solidifying his role as the team’s cornerstone over the past few years.

Center Ivan Barbashev is also making an impact, with seven goals and nine assists to his name. On the other hand, Adin Hill has struggled, posting a 6-2 record with a 3.13 goals-against average and a save percentage of .881.

While the defense has performed relatively well, ranking 10th in goals allowed, the team’s penalty kill has been less effective, currently sitting at 22nd in the league.

Canes-Knights Best Bet

The Hurricanes have been playing slightly better this season. They are 10-3, while the Knights are 9-3.

However, this seems like a difficult spot for them on the road. The Hurricanes just lost to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night, 6-4.

They blew an early two-goal lead and allowed the Avalanche to come back and win that one.

The Golden Knights are unbeaten at home and will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Seattle on Friday. They’ve had extra time to prepare for this one.

Despite missing Mark Stone, I think the Knights pull off the upset win tonight. Golden Knights on the moneyline at +120 odds at BetMGM is the best bet in this one.
